Just what I was looking for! Standalone hangouts. It would be great of the messages panel could span the full remaining width as the standard hangout chat windows are tiny.

The pop-up window for this extension is useful enough but there are no notifications on the icon itself. I don't need an extension to open a window to a site that I have bookmarked. I'd rather have a new tab with notifications.

Can't press enter to send message. Can't send message at all! I had a message typed and am looking all over for the Send button but it's nowhere to be found. Tried looking in settings and it won't open. What a waste of a download. Uninstalling promptly.

Doesn't allow you to make phone calls. I'm testing the text messaging, but it doesn't look good so far. Wish the OP would update it or let someone else take it over so they can make it work correctly. Currently, it is useless for any functions other than logging into your google account.

I've used this for a while now, and it works great as a Hangouts messenger. If you get calls it won't be able to answer. It runs as what looks like an encapsulated version of the hangouts website.
