Hello,

Sadly access to local files through "file://" protocol is now completely blocked by Firefox internal security for all add-ons.

Situation in Chrome browser is very similar but Chrome added option (checkbox) to enable access to local files for specific add-on on their add-on page. I hope something similar will come to Firefox one day, but until then, there is nothing I can do about it.
You can also downgrade to Firefox ESR where old add-ons still works :)

Good point with the background, I'm more focusing on features than look (which may not be best for business :)). But I'm planning some exciting upgrades that will include new background for every day from Bing service :)

There is a German translations. However Firefox decides what language it will use.
If you use English Firefox then you will probably have to force it:
1) open "about:config" in Firefox, and search for the "general.useragent.locale preference"
2) double click on the preference to select it, enter the language code "de"

Hello,

You can probably import your old dials. If you have your .speeddial
backup file, just import it. Here is a short tutorial:

If you don't have your backup file, you can look for one here:
C:\Users\\AppData\Roaming\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\\SDBackups
and look for .speeddial files.

You can also download Firefox ESR and backup your dials. However
downgrading to Firefox ESR will break your Firefox database and you will
have to use Firefox reset feature to fix it afterwards
(https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/refresh-firefox-reset-add-ons-and-settings).

Hello,
You probably activated the "Super-speed" feature (in upper right menu). When this feature is enabled, you can drag and drop only when holding Ctrl or Shift keys. You can also disable Super-speed.
