Recensioni per New Tab Override
New Tab Override di Sören Hentzschel
Recensione di Dave-H
Sorry for the earlier mess-up, I wasn't familiar with how this review system works. I assumed that if a developer responded to a review, you could then respond to that response, but it appears not!
I just want to confirm that New Tab Override, if it's configured to open "about:blank" as a new tab, should produce the same result when clicking the "+" button on the tab bar as entering "about:blank" in the address bar and pressing "enter" does.
At the moment it doesn't seem to produce the same result. Is this by design? Thanks, Dave.
EDIT: Thanks Sören, that certainly explains the change of behaviour. It's unfortunate that my extension to automatically close empty pages does not now treat the empty pages generated by New Tab Override as it did before, but that's obviously not your fault! I've tried the about:config change, but unfortunately that seems to result in a new tab being the home page, not an empty blank tab, so it's not ideal either, but again not your problem! Many thanks again, cheers, Dave.

pubblicato il 7 anni faThere was a change in Firefox 60 with the result that about:blank is no longer usable as new tab page for WebExtensions. I don't know if this was a intended change or a side effect of another change, a bug. But the only thing I was able to do was to implement a workaround so that a empty new tab still works - even if there are differences to about:blank in the tab / address bar.
But if you really want an empty new tab you can change browser.newtabpage.enabled in about:config to false and you don't need an add-on at all.

- Valutata 3 su 5di Utente Firefox 18538818, 2 giorni faIt worked for about 10 mins (with google.com as new page) and then is stopped, leaving me back in the FF default home page. Maybe they'll fix it, idk.
Edit: Didn't change anything on the system. I fiddled with it for quite some time after. Also asked ChatGPT, ruled out AdBlockers, still could not work it out. Sorry but this shouldn't take more then a few minutes to set up. May FF is blocking it in some way.Replica dello sviluppatore
pubblicato il 2 giorni faI don't understand this poor rating. If the extension worked at first, then it can't be the extension's fault if it no longer works. You must have changed something on your system. The extension doesn't stop working on its own. - Valutata 5 su 5di Rudolf_Snail, 4 giorni faDoes exactly what I expect it and want it to do — great extension.
- Valutata 4 su 5di Utente Firefox 18891860, 12 giorni faGenerally works very well, but the settings link on the tools dropdown list doesn't work
edit :
go to the menu bar, click Tools
at the bottom of the list is "New Tab - Settings"
when I click on it, nothing happensReplica dello sviluppatore
pubblicato il 2 giorni faThank you for the review. I can't see any broken settings link. Can you describe what you mean in more detail? - Valutata 5 su 5di sexipavel, 19 giorni fa

- Valutata 4 su 5di Chizzy, un mese faClose to perfect. I just wish it would highlight the address in the URL bar when making a new tab (google). I just want to start typing in the URL bar and currently it types before the current URL and doesn't replace it. I have to manually highlight the URL then start typing. Switching it to focus on the website is ok but it doesn't work with google to type a web address, it always just searches for it on google.

pubblicato il 2 giorni faThank you for the review. Unfortunately, this is not technically possible for an extension. - Valutata 5 su 5di InSinCere79, 3 mesi faUnlike the "Custom New Tab Page" extension that hasn't been updated in 5 years. This extension actually does what it says. Was able to set google to new tab with this extension.

- It was working fine. But, no longer. I have chosen custom URL (https ://www google com /advanced_search). It doesn't go there upon opening new tab.
It may have been updating firefox to 136.0.4. (spaces added to URL - review does not allow otherwise)
EDIT: Okay, now I got it work. I had to uninstall it and re-install. Something Firefox did somewhere broke it, but I can't say what. I certainly never touched it. Replica dello sviluppatore
pubblicato il 6 mesi faThanks for the review.
It was a feature in „vanilla Firefox“ in the past, but it was abused by bad players and therefore Mozilla was forced to remove the option. But at the same time they gave extension developers the ability. So we have to be thankful to Mozilla.- Valutata 5 su 5di Utente Firefox 17434746, 6 mesi faThe Bets! But, I can't donate through paypal cus they charge a fee! Suggest Venmo or other donation platform because PayPal is also run by APartheid NaXis!
