Great addon, although setting focus / highlighting the address URL would have been ideal for my requirements. Using this plugin in conjuction with 'New Tab Homepage' seems to resolve the issue. Just remember to install or activate 'New Tab Homepage' AFTER this plugin, as the reverse won't work.

"New Tab Homepage" is no WebExtension. So you could also use New Tab Override 6, it's also no WebExtension and has the mentioned feature. Then you don't need a second add-on. ;)
The WebExtension version of New Tab Override will get this feature as soon as it will be possible for WebExtensions. It will be possible in the future, probably with Firefox 57.

I just want to start typing in the URL bar and currently it types before the current URL and doesn't replace it. I have to manually highlight the URL then start typing. Switching it to focus on the website is ok but it doesn't work with google to type a web address, it always just searches for it on google.

- It was working fine. But, no longer. I have chosen custom URL (https ://www google com /advanced_search). It doesn't go there upon opening new tab.
It may have been updating firefox to 136.0.4. (spaces added to URL - review does not allow otherwise)
EDIT: Okay, now I got it work. I had to uninstall it and re-install. Something Firefox did somewhere broke it, but I can't say what. I certainly never touched it. Replica dello sviluppatore

It was a feature in „vanilla Firefox“ in the past, but it was abused by bad players and therefore Mozilla was forced to remove the option. It was possible several years ago, but Mozilla had to take this option from Firefox because hijacking was a real problem at that time.
