Depositing to Library UX improvements
The Save PDF flow has been updated to improve the library selection modal and expand saving options. This makes it clearer where a document will be saved and reduces the risk of saving to the wrong library.

Improved support for Quintessence publisher content
Handling of specific page structures on Quintessence journal sites has been improved. Articles from these pages can now be better identified and saved more consistently.

Bug Fixes
Resolved PDF download failures for selected journals
Issues preventing PDF downloads from BJPT and TATS journal pages have been fixed. Full text retrieval from these sources now works as expected.

Fixed arXiv download issue in Firefox
An issue that blocked arXiv PDF downloads in Firefox has been resolved, restoring normal download behavior in that browser.

Corrected tag application from search results

Corrected dropdown positioning on Pensoft pages
Dropdown menus in the left column on Pensoft pages were displayed in the wrong position. This has been corrected to ensure proper interaction.

Fixed Safari dark theme dropdown styling
A layout issue affecting dropdown menus in Safari when using dark theme has been fixed, ensuring proper display and usability.

Improvements
Expanded identifier support for ReadCube button
The ReadCube browser button now supports PMID and PMCID identifiers in addition to existing identifiers. This allows users to add articles to their library from a wider range of biomedical sources where DOI information may not be available.

Improved browser extension compatibility across sources
The browser extension has been enhanced to work more consistently across additional platforms, including SciFinder and Psicothema. Styling improvements for Google Scholar in Chrome ensure a more consistent and reliable experience when saving articles.

More efficient PDF download handling
The PDF download process has been improved to better support a wider range of publisher sites. This reduces failed downloads and improves reliability when retrieving full text.

Enhanced tagging during article addition
Tagging support has been added to the article add popup. This allows users to organize content at the point of ingestion, reducing the need for follow-up library management.

Improved usability of tag management menu
The tag menu layout has been refined to prevent interface elements from overlapping. This improves clarity and reduces friction when managing tags.

Resolved PMC content download failures
An issue that prevented successful downloads from PubMed Central has been fixed, restoring access to full text content from this source.

A bug causing incorrect data to be injected on PNAS latest article pages has been resolved, ensuring accurate article capture.

Restored arXiv bulk download functionality
An issue affecting bulk downloads from arXiv has been fixed, allowing users to reliably retrieve multiple articles at once.

We streamlined how PDFs are downloaded in the browser extension. Downloads now support more scenarios smoothly, reducing interruptions and giving users a more reliable experience.

Cleaner options when adding PDFs
We removed the outdated “Go to publisher with proxy” button to avoid confusion and keep the workflow focused on the most useful actions.

Choose your library when saving PDFs with injected PDF button
When adding a PDF through the “Save PDF to Papers by ReadCube” button, you can now select which library it should be saved to. This helps you stay organized when working across multiple projects.

Bug Fixes:

PubMed results now recognized
Fixed an issue where the extension sometimes didn’t detect search results in PubMed. You can now seamlessly add articles from PubMed into your library again.

Reliable Elsevier downloads
Large PDFs from Elsevier could previously fail to download. This has been resolved, so all file sizes are supported.

Improved Kluwer support
We fixed several issues with downloads from Kluwer to ensure more consistent performance.

Tooltips restored
The tooltip for the “Open library” icon was missing in some versions. It is now back to help you quickly understand the button’s function.
