Easily the best of the non-recommended Android extensions so far. I used Simple Gesture pre Fenix and am so glad it works in Android again.

Only thing I can think of that would make it better is a "open link in background tab" double-tap function (might not be possible.)

EDIT: Double tap (or other gestures) already works for opening a link in a new tab! Friggin' awesome! Fantastic extension.

Holy crap, I cannot describe how useful this is. You are amazing. One handed operation is great, but if anyone else noticed—there's no forward button! Like no functionality for one in system UI OR Firefox! Luckily, our dev hero saves the day and many minutes of accidentally swiping to some random assigned action while navigating Firefox, and subsequently raging. Seriously utubo, thank you so much. <3

(sidenote: there are customizable simple gestures for opening a custom url, closing or opening a new tab, reloading, etc! imo should be implemented in every android os natively.)

Thank you so much for this. It's a little finicky, but even just assigning a gesture to close a tab brings Firefox's usability much closer to Chromium's.

The add on provides swipe functionality that I missed from chromium browsers even supports extra gestures such as combinations. Thanks to developers. In order to use this extension on mobile, you have to use Firefox Nightly (for now). You can find instructions on reddit that would guide you through how to install them via add on collections method.

I can't stand Android's native gestures when using a browser, so after finding this addon, I was determined to figure out how to install it on my phone. It took a few hours and more effort than I expected, but it was worth it. I now have a forward gesture, and so much more. The only drawback is having to use Nightly, but that's not the developer's fault. I'm just grateful for the functionality I now have.
