Privacy Policy for VaultMesh Firefox Add-on
Effective date: 2026-05-02
VaultMesh is a local-only, end-to-end encrypted password manager add-on.
1) Local-only architecture
All vault data is stored locally on the user’s own devices. VaultMesh does not operate a cloud backend for user vault data and does not receive users’ plaintext secrets.
2) Data access model
The add-on processes data only on-device to provide password-manager functionality (autofill, save credential, copy credential, TOTP display/copy, and settings). Data is handled locally between:
- the browser add-on
- the local browser profile storage (settings only)
- the locally installed VaultMesh desktop app (via native messaging)
3) No server-side collection of vault data
VaultMesh does not collect, upload, or store users’ vault contents on company servers. This includes passwords, usernames, one-time codes, and website credential records.
4) No sale, no ads, no profiling
VaultMesh does not sell user data, does not use user data for advertising, and does not use user data for profiling unrelated to password-manager functionality.
5) Law-enforcement/government requests
Because user vault data is not stored on our servers and is encrypted/local on user devices, VaultMesh generally cannot disclose users’ vault contents in response to legal or government requests.
6) Security model
Vault data is designed to remain under user control on user devices. Users are responsible for securing their devices and local account access.
7) User controls
Users can remove the add-on at any time and clear local extension data from the browser. Users can lock/clear local fallback data within the add-on where applicable.
8) Changes
If this policy changes, the updated version will be published in the add-on listing.
