Below was a 1 star review for an old and very disappointing version of Adblock Plus. The 2019 and 2020 versions on Win10 are much better, but they're still not as user-friendly as the 2015 and before versions on XP. ABP wants users to allow acceptable ads, but those acceptable ads are items of their choice that you can't override without turning off the allow acceptable ads option. I might be prepared to accept 99% of items but not being able to block the 1% that are a nuisance. Not all the items I want to block are even ads. I choose to block the footer on the Google homepage because on enlarged settings it blocks the search functions. I can't block that item whilst allowing acceptable ads. Not smart.

Not just bad - it's HORRENDOUSLY bad! It takes 20+ seconds to switch on or off - which freezes your Firefox page. When you click on an element to block you don't know exactly what you're blocking. If you block an incorrect object, eg an overlay on a streaming site and you block the stream itself rather than the overlay, (a 50-50 chance), then God help you. It's nigh-on impossible to delete or edit the new custom filter.

A fantastic product that i've used for 10 years, (with over 400 personal custom filters) has been turned into a God-awful disaster that I will probably end up having to remove. What's been done to this product is akin to sabotage.

Wo ist die Liste der "Blockierbare Elemente"?
Wo sehe ich wer mir was gerade unterjubeln will?
Die wenigsten Datenströme kann man "anklicken" und damit zur "Blacklist" oder "Whitelist" hinzufügen.

Warum kann man nicht mehr direkt über das Icon den Blocker deaktivieren?
Jedes mal wenn ich nur kurz alles zulasssen will, muss ich in die Addon-Verwaltung!
Ich will nicht für jeden Scheiß ne White-List anlegen.

Wie kann man nur so dumm sein und so ein geiles Produkt so kaputt programieren!

Glaubt ihr wirklich damit wird es Nutzerfreundlicher oder mehr DAUs installieren sich das?

Diese "Zielgruppe" interessiert sich doch garnicht für ihren Datenmüll, weder für den, den sie untergeschoben kriegen,
geschweige denn für den, den sie verursachen!
Nein, mit so Aktionen verliert ihr mehr User als ihr gewinnt.


Ich habs jetzt deinstalliert.
Kann ich auch ohne ins Netz - weiß ja sowieso nicht mehr watt datt Ding macht!

После перехода с версии 2 на версию 3 стало тормозить безбожно, хотя настройки не менялись. Список исключений стал неконтролируемым - перечень из 20 позиций растянулся на несколько экранов!
Перешёл на соседний блокировщик (автор Raymond Hill).

Normaal super , werkt alleen niet overal .

Не возможно пользоваться вернулся к старой версии

I've used Adblock Plus for years, it gave me a full control of blocking of the unwanted content. Not only ads, but unwanted blocks on some sites and so on.

But during last update application have lost my personal blocking lists and removed all configuration. For now it works in fully automated mode and don't do what i really need. It's a very serious step back.
Is there any way to return to previous really great app?

p.s. Maybe app author was hacked by someone and this person replaced great app with this trash? :(

Why do developers need to "update" their software by going backward ? I'm going back to the 2.9.1 version :(

I'm sick about softwares like Firefox that where poorly designed in a way that they have to rewrite part of their stuff which for a software that use plugins made by others is just wrong.

You could go nuts trying out all the so-called ad blockers. After an arduous search many moons ago I settled on AdBlock. I was happy, and why not? It worked. Then along came AdBlock +. Zowie Batman this is even better.

Völlig unbenutzbar seit Version 3.0. Jetzt leider grottenschlecht. Bin schon auf der Suche nach Alternativen.

The new user interface is really, really bad. A massive fail. Don't tell us it's "better" because it isn't! Not for use ABP users. You may love it, but I as a user HATE IT! And I see that I'm not the only one. You're crippled the user's ability to intelligently customize ABP. WHY??? What prompted you to do this? It makes no sense. I'm really unhappy about this. Is it an "ego" thing? Because I think you, the dev, are the only person that's happy about what you've done. I guess we'll see how responsive you are the actual users.
