The crippling issue rendering the extension totally unusable seems to have been fixed - the extension version that seems to work OK again as I write this is 2025.7.1.
I am changing my rating from 1 star to 4 stars - but not 5 stars, as the previous issue is cause for concern - maybe it could break again. Also the UI / UX has become worse in my opinion in recent redisigns - more clicks to do the same thing as before, and often clicks do not do what I expected.

Trying to use the Bitwarden Extension in August 2025, it caused Firefox to freeze for 10+ second for any operation, and the extension didn't even work - trying to fill in a password would just cause a 15+seconds freeze, and after that the password was not even filled. Disabling the Bitwarden extension caused Firefox to become lightning fast again as usual, immediately, so this was really a problem with the Bitwarden extension. This is totally unusable and unacceptable, and very sad as Bitwarden is a great service. The extension worked perfectly the last time I used it a few months ago, so this is a new issue (in the meantime I was using the Windows App, which works fine). I really hope this will get fixed quickly.

- Also eure Plugins funktionieren weder bei Firefox, Chrome usw., ich gebe es auf.
Man bezahlt gut Geld für nichts, es funktioniert einfach seit einem Jahr nichts richtig.
Und immer wieder heißt, es kommt ein Fix. Dasselbe Spiel mit der Android App, die funktioniert auch nie. Aber gut ein Jahr ist rum und ich Wechsel jetzt, diesen scheiß tue ich mir nicht mehr an. It asks to save passwords that are already saved leaving you with multiple instances of the same password, but if you change the password, it doesn't change all of them. It's just a piece of shit.

additionally, it always asks me to "update" my passwords after signing into any website (multiple times), even though they are up-to-date.
