It works fine in my Edge browser. But in firefox, ALL customization I made in Setting don't change anything in my Youtube.

(edit1: Customization now somehow works. So, this review I undo)
(edit2: I agree with another reviewer that this Extension is FICKLE. For example, though I set the Sidebar in Appearance to be 'Collapsed'. One time, sidebar would be collapsed as set. Another time or in the next video, it acts normal, i.e. still shown.

And worse than that, though video is loading, it CANNOT be played. Every time I press the Play button it would immediately stop. Only when I turn off the extension, my Youtube starts playing again.

(edit: Videos can now be played normally after a new release)

hi! ohh sidebar Appearance? in future pageviews, or old tabs? We got 350.000 users but only 100 in firefox now. And spent soo much work for these 100. Lets see whats left to fix! thanks

Did you feel hurt? We are giving a free gift to the world and we are sensitive. The paused/stuck player can (only) have happened if you have disabled autoplay in ImprovedTube. So I just disabled this feature (version 3.186), since it became obsolete, since youtube has an autoplay button.

    Like some users after installing this extension the fan was overworked with noises. HOWEVER, on closer inspection the issue was likely caused by having the in extension adblocking feature turned on while another adblocker (e.g. uBO or Adguard) was already in use. Simply put, when it comes to - Youtube - adblocker, use either the one within this extension or uBO/AdGuard/Ghostery etc. but never both or more.

    I wanted the comment section on the right side of the page next to the video and was able to get this done using this extension. Absolute slam dunk.

    Caused widespread lag and high fan usage. Required uninstalling, multiple reboots, and a system restore to resolve.

    "Reviews tend to display herd behavior, while to product is complex and hard to judge. The amount of daily uninstalls is low. This project is updated by many volunteers. There might be a mystery bug only affecting 0.1% of users or 1% of Firefox version users - worth discovering, but depending on you writing a bug report."

    Great to begin with, but if you start going through your subscriptions it will bog down and break. And it turns out that the developer doesn't understand that not everyone who installs the extension is not their personal bug report.

    Add on makes youtube unusably laggy.

    And yes developer this is what reviews are for. They're for leaving information for others about the experience of using the app. "Makes the website it's for unusably slow" is useful information for other users. This isn't a technical or bug support request. It's a review of the functionality of the app.

    I meant Mozilla has rules generally allowing to flag / remove this.

    Too bad, the options are very relevant, but this extension makes YT unusable: depending on the chosen options, the YT window freezes. Calculation, settings, or others, we don't know what's happening. I don't quite understand the number of positive reviews, as I don't have such an exotic setup (FF 146.0.1 + YT Anti-Translate + Privacy Badger + Ublock Origin + Emoji CheatSet on W11x64).

    Finally, an extension to block those pesky and pointless shorts and member only content that actually works. Thank you creators, you truly made YouTube usable again. Love all of the customization as well.

    The performance is very bad and the developer doesn't seem to be willing to fix it. Furthermore some features are missing and the ones that do exist don't work reliable, probably because of the very bad performance.
