Your daily AI usage consumes water to cool data centers.

Bottle It Back estimates the water impact of your activity on supported AI chat platforms and visualizes it in real time using a simple “bottle” system, helping you understand your environmental footprint.

The extension works on supported AI chat websites including ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude, Perplexity, Meta AI, and others. It detects page activity and interaction events to estimate usage, but does not collect or store prompt text, messages, passwords, or personal data.

All usage data is stored locally in your browser.

Bottle It Back also allows you to offset your estimated water footprint by opening the Planet Water Foundation donation page and prefilling the donation amount based on your usage. Planet Water Foundation is a non-profit organization providing safe water access to communities in need.

The extension also includes tips to help you use AI tools more efficiently.

Bottle It Back does not track browsing outside supported sites and does not transmit user data to external servers.
