arbon-llm adds an in-page panel and toolbar popup that estimate the greenhouse gas footprint (CO₂e in grams) of each exchange with major LLM chat UIs.
Supported surfaces include ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Mistral Chat, and Grok. The extension reads token or usage signals exposed by the page where possible, and can fall back to lightweight DOM heuristics.
When it contacts carbon-llm.com, it sends only technical metadata such as model id and token or usage counts needed to compute CO₂e—not the text of your prompts or model answers. No Carbon account is required to use the extension.
You can resize or hide the panel; a keyboard shortcut (Alt+Shift+C by default) toggles a compact “pill” view. Options are available from the extension’s options page.
