Clean Links is a Firefox extension that protects your privacy and online autonomy by:

Intercepting affiliate redirect links (such as those from Mavely, Commission Junction, Impact Radius, Skimlinks, Rakuten, Awin, ShareASale, and dozens of other affiliate networks) and sending you directly to the real destination URL.

Stripping tracking parameters (such as UTM tags, click IDs, and affiliate identifiers) from URLs before your browser visits them

Blocking and removing cookies set by known affiliate tracking domains

Normalizing merchant URLs (Target, Amazon, Walmart, Best Buy) to remove affiliate-stuffed slugs and reference codes from URL paths

The result is that you reach the same destination you intended, without affiliate networks earning commissions from your purchases or building tracking profiles based on your activity.

What data does Clean Links keep?
The extension keeps a local counter of how many links it has cleaned, redirects it has bypassed, and cookies it has nuked. These numbers are displayed in the extension's popup as a fun stat for you to look at. They are stored in memory inside your browser, are reset whenever you click "Reset counts" or restart your browser, and are never transmitted anywhere.

Does Clean Links share this data?
No.

Clean Links does not use, integrate with, or contact any third-party services, analytics platforms, advertising networks, or remote APIs. There are no third parties involved. The extension does not communicate with any external servers, including any servers operated by the developer.
