Overview

FlashRead is a speed reading Chrome extension that displays text one word at a time. Your privacy is important to us, and this extension is designed with privacy in mind.

Data Collection

FlashRead does not collect, store, or transmit any personal data.

What we access:

• Website content: When you use FlashRead, it reads the text content of the current webpage to display in the speed reader. This content is processed entirely locally on your device and is never transmitted to any external servers.
• User preferences: Your settings (reading speed, font size, display options) are stored locally in your browser using Chrome's storage API. These preferences never leave your device.

What we do NOT collect:

• Personal information (name, email, address)
• Browsing history
• Authentication credentials
• Financial information
• Location data
• Analytics or usage tracking
• Any data transmitted to external servers

Third Parties

FlashRead does not share any data with third parties. There are no analytics, advertising, or tracking services integrated into this extension.

Permissions Explained

• activeTab: Access the current page only when you activate the extension
• storage: Save your preferences locally on your device
• scripting: Inject the speed reading overlay onto pages
• contextMenus: Add right-click menu options for quick access
