All data is stored locally on your device using Chrome's storage API. No data is transmitted to external servers or third parties. Your settings remain on your device and are synced across your devices only if you're signed into Chrome with sync enabled.
Data Usage
Your stored preferences are used solely to:
Apply grayscale filters to websites according to your settings
Remember your scheduling preferences
Maintain your list of always-grayscaled websites
Permission Justifications
Storage Permission
Why we need it: To save your grayscale preferences, website settings, and schedules locally on your device.
What it does: Allows the extension to remember which websites should be grayscaled and when.
Tabs Permission
Why we need it: To detect when you navigate to different websites and apply the appropriate grayscale settings.
What it does: Allows the extension to check the current tab's URL to determine if grayscale should be applied based on your settings.
Alarms Permission
Why we need it: To enable scheduled grayscale periods (e.g., grayscale all websites from 9 AM to 5 PM).
What it does: Creates system alarms that trigger at your specified times to automatically enable or disable grayscale mode.
Host Permissions
Why we need it: To inject the grayscale CSS filter into any website you choose to grayscale.
What it does: Allows the extension to apply visual filters to website content. This permission is required to modify the appearance of web pages but does not grant access to read or collect any website data.
Data Deletion
You can delete all stored data at any time by:
1. Uninstalling the extension
2. Clearing the extension's data through Chrome's settings
3. Using the extension's options page to reset settings
