I designed this extension with the purpose of color-coding technical skill keywords found in job postings. This feature allows me to quickly evaluate whether a particular position aligns with my skill set. However, there are numerous other potential applications for this tool! The browser extension is comprised of three components: a content script, a background script, and a pop-up settings user interface (UI). The pop-up UI is built using the Vue framework. To ensure user preferences persist across browser sessions, the extension utilizes the local storage feature provided by the browser, allowing settings to be saved locally.
