Does exactly what it's called. This simple but very useful feature should be included in FF. One request: would it be possible to open the new tab right next to the current one instead of at the end of the tabs ? Thanks

I've been waiting for an updated version of Tab Mix Plus, to work with FireFox v57. However, this provides the most important feature I need - to open websites and search items entered into the address bar in a new tab.

It looks like I may be able to replace the Chrome based was using with FireFox now.

Finally FF 57 opens a new tab from the address bar... THX

webRequestに対応し、表示しているアクティブタブの内容が書き換えられないようになった。ほぼ以前通りの動作。
なお、Firefox60でbrowser.urlbar.openintabをtrueにしても同じ結果は全く得られません(履歴等を開いた際にカレントタブに開かれます)ので不要ではありません。

同等の機能は以前はTabMix Plusを使って実現していましたが、同アドオンはFirefox 57以降は使えなくなり、about:configには該当する設定項目はなく、ほとほと困っていました。代替措置を探して真っ先にこのアドオンが見つかったものの、その時点では未対応でした。最近になって対応して下さりとても感謝しています。自分にとってこの動作があるのとないのとでは使い勝手が大きく違いますので。
