If you could explain a little bit more in to what you see on the new tab maybe I could provide you with instructions in how to fix your problem.

Right now you should be able to see the following message on the new tab if you don't have any note already created: "No Notes Found, Create One To Start"

Note that for this add-on to work you should answer 'Yes' when asked for permissions by Firefox
