This add-on lets you quickly highlight selected text on any webpage via a context menu or from a simple popup. It is designed to be lightweight, fast, and respectful of your browsing. The default color is soft yellow and you can change it anytime in Options. Highlights are applied locally and can be cleared with a single click. There are no background network calls and no remote code. The add-on follows Mozilla’s best practices for safety and privacy and only asks for the permissions that are strictly necessary to do its job.
Use the context menu entry “Highlight selection” after selecting text, or open the toolbar button popup for highlight and clear controls. The Options page lets you pick and save a custom highlight color, which syncs with your Firefox account.
