This extension prevents PDF files from being saved to your computer when you open them. It allows you to view these files at the URL they were downloaded from.
Safety
The extension is tiny and contains no scripts at all.
The extension requires host permissions ("Access your data for all web sites") in order to modify web requests. See Implementation below.
Implementation
PDF Always In Tab works by removing the ?forcedownload=1 URL parameter.
Alternatives
If you prefer not to install the extension, you may enable browser.download.open_pdf_attachments_inline in Advanced Preferences (about:config) to modify Firefox's default behaviour. This will prevent the PDF from being saved to your computer.
However, unless you remove ?forcedownload=1, the tab will be duplicated every time it reloads.
