The addon uses two very well known PUBLIC and FREE exchange rate APIs to fetch the latest exchange rates for conversions. Those are the ONLY network calls that are done on the extension, ever.

Everything else is completely done within the browser. No personal data is EVER sent ANYWHERE. Full transparency.
