Yay! It works! This is an extension that does just one thing, but does it well.

All I wanted to do was change the color of visited links, because Firefox's default purple is, to me, almost indistinguishable from the blue of unvisited links. Changed the color easily and immediately (pink!) and it stays that color.

Not working!

I did not see any effect.

The standard Firefox option may even be enough. I just noticed I had to change a setting to 'always'. Now that works as far as I have tested.

So for the moment, I disabled the add-on.

Works as described. A whitelist of sites for this add-on to apply user's color choice would be a great feature.

I noticed one reviewer did not discover the visited link color for this add-on is set in Firefox Preferences/General/Fonts and Colors/Colors. Another reviewer didn't understand that "Over-ride page colors" has to be set to "Always" to force user color choices; this add-on forces only the visited link color to always be over-ridden, which IMO is much better.

This is the only extension that actually works. LinkEnabler, does not work. But we should not even have an extension to get the basic Firefox to do this. In options-General-Language and Appearance-Colors, It has a place to pick a color for Visited Links. But it has never worked in FF. We have to have this add-on to make it work.
