Thanks for you review. There were some issues with the native browser behavior, I'm unable to change. Using a custom UI, I have full control over the player. I want to include as many missing feature, like speed-control in the UI, but this will take some time. To make everyone happy, the next update will include a option to switch between the custom or native UI. You can choose whatever fits your needs.
I'll find some time this weekend to finish and release the update. Until then, have a good time :-)

- The extension is very good overall, however when opening videos from the search list, the sound is duplicated (playing both the one from the list and the one from the window that opens).
And when trying to open them in a new tab, I discovered that Firefox crashes (even restarting and reporting an error message) when opening about 3-5 windows.

The only downsides are that it causes videos to kind of flicker as I'm scrolling, and I do have to manually unmute every video that I play. Overall, this extension is easy to use and makes instagram much more user-friendly.

Which begs the question even more strongly, why oh why does Instagram still not implement these 'features' (bare minimum) to the browser experience?!
