Calling it Simple is a bit of misnomer; it's more feature complete than the 'Panorama View' add-ons. Speaking of which has the "free range" aspect that this add-on desires. So with the new update, it acts as a good replacement for like the original "Tab Groups", it's not a perfect 1:1 but that's alright. The issue of tabs loading all at once, or closing are a thing of the past. I've switched back to this and look forward to future developments.

Consider adding Dark theme and DuckDuckGo icon proxy service (example: https://icons.duckduckgo.com/ip2/youtube.com.ico). I'd rather use that over Google s2.

Great to have tab groups back with this extension. Now that the tab hiding API is available and used it's fantastic. Thanks for the excellent work on it!

In this version of Firefox 61.0 the tabs are hidden in all the sites except the thumbnails of the Windows taskbar where all the groups of all the groups are shown together. I think it did not happen before. Just fix this so that the extension is perfect and 5*

Another error that I have found is that when closing the last tab of a group, instead of appearing the Newtab page or disappearing this group, the last tab of the previous group is moved there. I've only been able to try it with 2 groups.

Nice legacy Tab Groups replacement on quantum! Most of hotkeys for switching groups can almost recover the legacy one except those limitation in extensions (That's no choice). Good to see this release just before legacy Firefox ESR end of support. Thanks for bringing the final hope and allow for move on quantum seamlessly.

I am looking forward to the free arrange be implemented and that will be fully replace, and/or even enhance of legacy Tab Groups.

Suggestion: Is it possible close the "Manage Groups" tab after switching groups? Otherwise whenever using hotkey to open "Manage Groups", it will switch back to the group with "Manage Groups" tab. The current solution is uncheck 'Open "Manage Groups" in new tab'.

Edit 2: Thanks for response. One more suggestion: how about close "Manage Groups" tab when it is inactive OR hide all other tabs when "Manage Groups" is active (so user must choose a group or close it to remain in current group)? This can force the "Manage Groups" tab never belongs to any groups, which prevent group auto switching when opening "Manage Groups".

I like most everything about this EXCEPT for the fact that the tabs reload whenever switching groups. That's very annoying. For example, if I download something in one tab, wait for it to complete, switch to a different tab group, and then switch back, the tab reloads and the file start to download again. That's just one example of the annoying behavior.

If it wasn't for that, I would be satisfied and would stop looking for a better tab manager. As it is, the search continues.

UPDATE: A later version of this fixed the tab reload issue, so now I'm much happier with it.

- dans le menu-contextuelle depuis "Simple Tabs Groupe" pourvoir arriver directement dans "transféré dans un groupe" et que l'option "définir… … " soit mis dans cette zone. Elle sers trop peu pour être un passage obligatoire.

Update 2022: The new default behavior is to show a menu popup when you click the addon button instead of the "manage groups" overview, and I cannot find a way to switch it back, making this addon much less useful to my workflow.

To the developer: It would be amazing if you could add a toggle in the settings that would make the addon button in the toolbar immediatly open the "manage groups" window instead of opening the popup.

Changing groups just closes all your active tabs and opens the others. So when you switch back, all your tabs reload and you lose history (as in the back or forward button). Pretty pointless. It's about as useful as having a text file with links of your tabs, because you lose your history. This add on should take advantage of the new tabhide in the about:config and maybe that will help it work properly.
Also, even though I restore info from the old tab groups, it didnt bring the history so again i cannot hit back button. shame.

The interface, like many WebUI extensions, is pretty horrible. Notifications are extremely slow and take a long time to disappear. It’s almost impossible to move tabs from one group to another with accidentally loading the group. Similarly the group list has two sides: the left side will load the group; the right side will load a tab list of the group. This is not very clear as this behaviour isn’t normal for a drop-down menu.

Loading a group with a large number of tabs (despite the option to only load active tabs) will try to load ALL TABS, potentially freezing your computer. Firefox itself does not do this when loading tabs, so it’s a mystery why this extension does.

Finally the Manage Groups page shows nothing, so no managing is possible.

Addon crashes with Message: TypeError: t is null

Don't forget to implement a simple nullcheck. If(obj != null) very simple

Great add-on. However, there are some issues with it, that makes it very annoying for me. Not sure if it's related to other add-ons (such as Session Manager), but here they are:
- "Move tab to" menu is in a sub-menu (takes too much time and precise mouse accuracy)
- Does not accept local (non-internet) tabs. As a web designer, this really sucks.
- After switching group, all tabs are loaded. I don't want that.
- Tabs disappear sometimes (not a lot and not sure when)
- It forgets a lot in which tab group you were last time and you end up with a copy of all your tabs in a non-group tab. (Probably after restarting Firefox, not sure)
To the developer: I appreciate your efforts! I really do. The rating just reflects my "annoyment" and is no reflection to you or your efforts.

I love this extension; Groups are one of the most important features and you've implemented them beautifully. However, I have a question (and forgive me if this is the wrong place to ask, but I couldn't find anyplace else).

Are all my groups in memory all the time? Or only the active group? That's important for resource management.

This is the best that ever came after Firefox killed the integrated TabGroup feature. Just wondering if there could be the option to set a shortcut key for backuping your tab goups to a json file?

I appreciate this add-on but I won't use it anylonger because the current version gives it permission to "Access your data for all websites".

Just amazing. Simply amazing. It moves my "Personal" tabs automatically to group.
There are few small things that can help like sync and hiding (instead reloading when switch)(And this is coming in next FF version so it will be implemented in new version of addon)
