- i just don't like the 10 logo on the toolbar, i am so used to the old kanji one, i hope you'll replace it with something japan-ish. if someone has problem making it to work and restarting firefox didn't helped, try disabling the add-on and re-enable it again
edit: wow, thanks for the configurable icon and other additions. you're the best!Tiririt n ineflayen
yeffeɣ-d deg há 5 anosHi! Thank you for your feedback! That's a good idea about making the logo configurable. I filed an issue for it at: https://github.com/birchill/10ten-ja-reader/issues/689
Also, thank you for the advice about fixing the add-on after the update. I'm really really sorry for the trouble you had.
UPDATE: As of version 1.2.0 the logo is now configurable so you can set a kanji icon if you prefer. - Yettwasezmel 5 ɣef 5sɣur Aseqdac Firefox 16927149, há 5 anos
- Yettwasezmel 5 ɣef 5sɣur ANGRYfox25, há 5 anosIf you're learning Japanese but find it scary to read it on the internet, fear no more. This extension is a must have for learners as it doesn't interrupt your reading experience and saves a lot of time form having to look up the definition yourself. Its like that friend who you can ask whenever you forget a word or don't know something.

yeffeɣ-d deg há 5 anosThank you! That's very generous of you to give a 5 star review despite your concerns about the download size.
The download size is only about 14Mb but once that gets decompressed and stored in IndexedDB it swells to over 300Mb on disk. It seems like the IndexedDB indices are particularly large and at some point I hope to find a way to reduce them somewhat.
The up-side is that by storing the data in IndexedDB Rikaichamp uses much less memory when it is running and can be kept up-to-date by just downloading the changed records each week which is normally only a few kilobytes.
Sorry about the alarm it caused you though!- Yettwasezmel 5 ɣef 5sɣur Aseqdac Firefox 13515138, há 5 anos

yeffeɣ-d deg há 5 anosThank you so much! I'm so glad Rikaichamp is proving helpful with your learning! - Yettwasezmel 2 ɣef 5sɣur Aseqdac Firefox 14380695, há 5 anosThe app is great, but looking more carefully at the permissions, I'm only using it very selectively, ie, only activating it when needed. The kind of access signed away lets it vacuum up far too much data. It's free, and this defrays the cost, but the type of data is so totally unrelated to it's task.

yeffeɣ-d deg há 5 anosHi! Thank you for your review. Which permissions are unnecessary?
Unfortunately, in order for Rikaichamp to be able to present pop-ups on the page it requires access to that page's contents. Web extensions do not provide any more fine-grained permissions that that. As far as I can tell, it's impossible to create a pop-up dictionary with fewer permissions.
The source code is available for audit and/or forking if you are concerned about misuse of those permissions. - Yettwasezmel 5 ɣef 5sɣur dirtbaggins, há 5 anosRikaichamp is everything I want in a pop-up dictionary, and I've been using it for over a year. I just downloaded Firefox Nightly, so I can use Rikaichamp on my Android phone once again! Thanks for making my life easier. ありがとうございました!

But is it possible to install dictionary for different language, russian, for example?Tiririt n ineflayen
yeffeɣ-d deg há 5 anosThank you so much for your very kind words! There's no possibility to install other dictionaries at the moment but I hope to release a version that includes Russian definitions for a lot of the words in the next month or two. Tiririt n ineflayen

yeffeɣ-d deg há 5 anosThank you so much for your support! I really appreciate it!- Yettwasezmel 5 ɣef 5sɣur Aseqdac Firefox 15013042, há 5 anosThank you for this outstanding pop-up dictionary, it is a useful tool for Japanese learning like me. Recently I also installed Yomichan (similar like yours). In Yomichan I can copy the dictionary's explanation. I wish Ricachamp can do the same job too.

yeffeɣ-d deg há 5 anosHi! Thank you very much! You can copy dictionary explanations by pressing the "c" key when the popup is showing. Then you can press "c" again to choose which entry to copy followed by "e", "t" or "w" depending on which format you'd like to copy in.
