1. If any application (including browser addons) does not have an OFFLINE import-export-backup function, it has no value to me, does not follow good practices and is poorly designed.

2. Cloud sync may be OPTIONAL for users who clearly need it.
Full import-export (containing complete data to restore the previous state, folders, groups, stars, pins, tasks, etc.) locally to the file is the foundation.
Cloud here, cloud there, some clouds everywhere, but a large group of users do not use clouds for everything (many use self-hosted) and must have access to file backup.

3. Currently, it is not possible to return to v1 as a workaround -> v2 should not be released because it is incomplete.

4. Do not install v2 if you plan to reinstall the OS soon, because you will lose the ability to export your OneTab bookmarks!
I was going to install a new OS in the coming days and now I can't transfer my bookmarks.

Maybe need to look for another addon?

PS: The current look and new features are great, but the lack of FULL file export-import is a bummer...

    Love Onetab, but not a fan of the most recent update. Not sure why they changed it to this forced center-aligned layout with no ability to change it to something like previous versions, but it makes for a ton of wasted space on either side on my 1440p monitor. I also have the bug with Onetab auto-pinning its own tab every time it opens but they've mentioned they'll fix that soon, at least. Reverted to an older version for now.

    Newest update wiped years of accumulated tabs. The developer has taken no responsibility. Changed the way they save tabs, don't test it, and wipe user's existing tabs without making a backup first?

    DO NOT TRUST these developers.

    Hi, unfortunately Tor browser prevents all extensions (including OneTab) from using indexeddb for storage, which breaks the new OneTab. There is nothing we can do to get Tor to allow it. See https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1893821

    Pretty good but the update now forcibly creates a pinned tab and I cannot stand them. Let OneTab open in a regular tab.

    I was very wary when seeing this v2 update (in the old version I had to be careful to avoid 'Send all tabs... to OneTab', because it basically nuked everything without saving heh)... but I made a third party backup of my Firefox profile (as we all should! *hint hint*) and gave it a spin...

    Really pleasantly surprised at how good the extra features are. The filtering options, much needed search, the trash - this whole update has expanded its use case. For me, it's gonna be a bit overwhelming to sort through 24k+ tabs, but at least I now have some tools to help whittle that down and have some degree of organisation.

    My only slight gripe so far is the 3 panel UI, it's a bit unnecessary IMO - the Quick list and Tasks can easily share the left panel. I hope the dev takes in all the feedback and also looks into reports of data-loss for some people, coz that's obviously concerning. (Make good third-party backups, people!)

    Thanks for the feedback - please also note that there is a new "Show the OneTab action popup" option in the Options page, which shows a popup window when you click the OneTab icon instead of immediately sending all tabs in the current window to OneTab. It's possible in the future we could make the side panels more configurable, like an IDE. If you have any other feature thoughts, please let us know at one-tab.com/feedback

    Hi, we've not heard of this issue happening to anyone else - OneTab is designed to only close a browser window if you click the OneTab icon to send the open tabs to OneTab.

    Even if a window does get accidentally closed, you should be able to use the History menu to reopen the recently closed tabs.

    Hi, sorry this happened to you. For some reason, Firefox has wiped OneTab's storage area. Do you remember recently being asked if you want to "Refresh Firefox"? This is a prompt shown to you when you upgrade to a new Firefox version (there is a new Firefox version released every month). This feature, confusingly, wipes clean all add-on storage including OneTab's storage.

    Down from five star because without warning, this stupid developer destroyed YEARS of accumulated saved tabs. The updated version DID NOT EVEN WORK it tried to show something but could only give me the start of a menu with flashing dots at the left as if it was doing something. Thank God there are other options for this functionality because I'm never going to trust this developer with my data ever again AND YOU SHOULDN'T TRUST THEM EITHER.

    Hi, we've discovered that if you use the Tor browser (based on Firefox), or are using the regular Firefox but have configured a custom history policy to never retain any browsing data ever, it will prevent any extension including OneTab from creating an "indexeddb" database to store tabs for you.     Largely I'm not that bothered by the update, I agree with folks that center align is jarring and I would like to go back to left align but alas, what does bother me though, is whenever I'm in the "one tab" tab, my scrollbar becomes so tiny that its unusable, the only option is to adjust the window which is not what I'm after.

    give me a fix or fix it and I'll change the review.

    Hi, I think you're referring to OneTab using narrow scrollbars instead of the regular wide scrollbars. We'll add an option for this.

    I'm not one to embrace change, especially UI changes, and I don't particularly care for the center aligned look of the new update BUT - while i've been using this add on for years and its always been serviceable and worked well the latest changes have been a game changer for functionality. The ability to now easily click and drag the links around, the stream lined ability to create folders - it all works really well. I don't even know if these are new features or ones I just never figured out how to access but it's all so intuitive now and has really saved me a headache when its time to reorganize my links. This add on is a life saver for me and I'm pleased to see its gotten better and not worse in an ever increasingly enshitified internet. Thanks.

    I've used OneTab for years and this update is what made me make an account on here just to leave this review. I love this extension but the new look is absolutely terrible. There was no need to change what was perfectly good, just because it didn't fit with the current design trends. If you're like me and dislike it, just export your tabs, remove the extension, download the previous one, and turn off updates.

    J'ai découvert cette fonctionnalité par hasard et cela a considérablement amélioré l'efficacité de mon travail et diminué ma charge mentale, car c'est simple et allège l'esprit de savoir qu'on peut revenir en quelques clics sur un page en cours de lecture. les nouvelles fonctionnalités annoncés avec arborescence et partage devraient me permettre plus d'efficacité encore. Je recommande.
