This addon is so invaluable and the benefits are innumerable. It has saved countless devices from being lodged into the wall, it has saved the wall countless times from having holes punched through it, it has saved the bones in my hands from being broken, improved relations with my neighbors as they no longer hear me screaming at my screen all day, has lowered my stress and blood pressure and overall improved my health and mood on a regular basis. 😁

Very useful, saved me so many times, sometimes from my own inattention, often from badly behaved websites which flushed my text field. This extension saved me from having to re-type my text (as well as not being certain that I remember everything I meant to type, when having to restart from scratch).

One issue with the most recent version 5.0.6, but not sure if that's a Firefox or extension issue, is that the extension doesn't update anymore.
I check for updates, the new extension version is found, I install it, then if I re-check for updates it is found again. It seems like the update doesn't take. Restarting the browser and deleting cache didn't help. This happened on two very different Windows 11 machines (1/ personal gaming PC and 1 work laptop), both on FF 142.0.1.
I fixed by by uninstalling and reinstalling the extension.

Thank you, dev for developing this extension - it's a 𝗹𝗶𝗳𝗲𝘀𝗮𝘃𝗲𝗿! So many times I've accidentally deleted or lost writing in a textbox. i.e. refresh the page, select all > cut, close Firefox, tap Back, close the tab, delete cookies & lose the cache (and of course, I forgot to submit a 500-word piece in 1 of 49 tabs D'oh!)🤦‍♀️😊

Good thing I installed Textarea Cache! I can get it back in 5sec! Here how: Tap the 3 dots next to the number of tabs open > in the pop-up menu, tap Extensions > tap "View your saved data" > look for the entry with your text > copy text > paste into textbox.

Works fine for me (Win7, FF 115.16.1esr (64-Bit)). Saved entries can bee seen and copied, deleted (automatically after a period), and exported as file.

Have the same problems as Michael R. The menu is slow as hell, the drop down didn't works as it should and Firefox (Win10) hangs often for seconds. No impact on performance as long the menu is closed. Makes it hard to use at all. When it worked as it should it was a clear 5 Star Add-on for me. Hope the author can fix that problem.

I have been using this addon for so long, I can't remember when I started. It has saved my hide on countless occasions. I previously gave it three stars because it stopped working right on several devices, but it now works great again. Don't browse without it; it is a great asset. It gets four stars because the UI is functional, but could be better.

Saved my bacon on several occasions. As sometimes you submit a form after typing a long essay and then some error occurs or the page "expired" or some other non-sense and you must start all over. Important: you must limit the amount of days to save....so that the database doesn't get to large and crash. I recommend 6 months maximum (181 days). Author should have a default of 1-3 months.

Critically valuable extension if you write posts in forums, etc.

Textarea Cache was once a necessary and often used Firefox extension, but sadly doesn't seem to work anymore on my Linux distribution. What's the problem?
