Mozilla app store is more convenient way to download extensions and I prefer switching to different extension, then downloading github extension on my every device (since no synchronization for selfhosted extension). As an ordinary user, I don't care about conflicts between the developer and Mozilla team

It comes out of the box with a wide variety of block lists/subscriptions, but it also lets users fine tune everything to their own needs on every site. I use it on all my browsers on all devices, and I can't recommend it more highly. The interface is intuitive yet powerful (especially in Advanced Users mode) and gives insight to which requests are being blocked or allowed. I have been using it since 2015.
