sɣur Aseqdac Firefox 14655365, hace 3 mesesOn May 4, 2025, Raymond Hill, the lead developer of uBlock Origin, removed Ukrainian filters from the regional section without any explanation. These filters were created by Ukrainians for Ukrainians, and were developed and optimized with attention to each individual website in the Ukrainian segment of the internet. They were highly effective in blocking ads, phishing, and other unwanted content on Ukrainian sites.
Instead, they were replaced by Russian filters (RU AdList and the so-called "Ukrainian" filters from the Russian company AdGuard). These are overloaded with blocking rules tailored for the Russian web (Runet) rather than the Ukrainian segment. I don't even understand why AdGuard labels them as "Ukrainian regional" when the only thing Ukrainian about them is the name, while the filters themselves are clearly made for the Russian region.
Moreover, these Russian filters are of very poor quality and ineffective at blocking ads, phishing, and other threats on Ukrainian websites. Literally, after the first attempt to use these filters, I started seeing ads for online casinos and other garbage right away.
To make things worse, these Russian filters contain politically motivated blocklists — they block absolutely all Ukrainian charity foundations individually.
As a Ukrainian user, I am outraged by the developer’s position.

- Yettwasezmel 4 ɣef 5sɣur seeley, hace 2 díasBeen using this add-on for many years. However, Youtube ads (popups during and at the end of videos) are starting to come back again (latest UBO). "Block Element" doesn't wok. (It's bad enough that Youtube cripples Firefox's experience and makes browser RAM consumption 2-4GB. Everything is so slow (on a late gaming PC but only with YT)

- Yettwasezmel 5 ɣef 5sɣur iiibyrdiii, hace 5 díasSwitched back to Firefox after nearly a decade of avoiding it. Finally hit the point of frustration from Chrome deleting my extensions for add blockers, even went into developer mode loading legacy extensions from old files and BAM two days later google disabled them and deleted the files that was my last straw.
uBlock is necessary anymore and well now I don't have to deal with forced adds. - Yettwasezmel 5 ɣef 5sɣur Aseqdac Firefox 18303139, hace 6 días

- Yettwasezmel 5 ɣef 5sɣur Mad_dog, hace 6 díasBest adblocker available. It is more than just an adblocker though. It is a content blocker, tracker blocker, malware/phishing blocker, and cookie blocker too (if you enable "EasyList/uBO – Cookie Notices." You can also add custom filter lists, like "YouTube Neuter - sponsorblock."
