Also the same when Your switch off the phone ... Firefox will continue to play it in the background. This used to be a normal feature of Firefox until a few months ago when it was removed with updates to the App. Thanks to this extension by Timothy Chien,we have the fracture back.

Important to know that if you're watching a playlist YouTube will still pause your videos between each video, even going as far as to incorrectly force your browser to give you a "no internet connection" error and force a page reload. Nothing wrong with the add-on though, purely an issue caused by Alphabet Incorporated overstepping their bounds.
