Very nice, would love to have a stop button on the control bar instead of depending on a shortcut, also a way to toggle DASH playback to fully buffer a video or a similar option

Edit: I guess I wasn't clear, when I said stop button, I didn't mean to simply pause a video, but to completely stop it from loading it, leaving it only with the thumbnail. While there is a shortcut that can be used thanks to the extension, the option to add it as a button on the control bar would be appreciated as well

Just wrote the long answer for you here: https://github.com/code4charity/YouTube-Extension/issues/581#issuecomment-1014280878 --- Please keep in mind it can be so frustrating, if not wrong to pressure us based on the one feature you grew fond of years ago, which we have not, which might be for a good reason. You might want to give 5 stars to support the cause rather than making it seem impossible for us to get 5 stars and get anywhere near as much visiblity as our work deserves. ----Browser extensions are unfortunately supposed/presented to be small/single-purpose. We still are avidly providing a 100 of the most wished and requested features without 100 times more success than easy extensions. This is many times more teditious than making our own site which would be fun/need no maintenance. We are volunteers. Youtube has a billion times more money than us. Many smiles!

    Pretty outdated by 2026 (eg, Shorts still visible despite trying to hide them, Join buttons hide Improve YouTube options, generally pretty bloated with redundant optionality better covered by other apps or by YT updates enabling such options, etc.)

    Like some users after installing this extension the fan was overworked with noises. HOWEVER, on closer inspection the issue was likely caused by having the in extension adblocking feature turned on while another adblocker (e.g. uBO or Adguard) was already in use. Simply put, when it comes to - Youtube - adblocker, use either the one within this extension or uBO/AdGuard/Ghostery etc. but never both or more.

    I wanted the comment section on the right side of the page next to the video and was able to get this done using this extension. Absolute slam dunk.

    Caused widespread lag and high fan usage. Required uninstalling, multiple reboots, and a system restore to resolve.

    Great to begin with, but if you start going through your subscriptions it will bog down and break. And it turns out that the developer doesn't understand that not everyone who installs the extension is not their personal bug report.

    Add on makes youtube unusably laggy.

    And yes developer this is what reviews are for. They're for leaving information for others about the experience of using the app. "Makes the website it's for unusably slow" is useful information for other users. This isn't a technical or bug support request. It's a review of the functionality of the app.

    Too bad, the options are very relevant, but this extension makes YT unusable: depending on the chosen options, the YT window freezes. Calculation, settings, or others, we don't know what's happening. I don't quite understand the number of positive reviews, as I don't have such an exotic setup (FF 146.0.1 + YT Anti-Translate + Privacy Badger + Ublock Origin + Emoji CheatSet on W11x64).

    The performance is very bad and the developer doesn't seem to be willing to fix it. Furthermore some features are missing and the ones that do exist don't work reliable, probably because of the very bad performance.
