BlurIt
Inspect any file before you upload it. BlurIt intercepts file selections on any webpage and reveals the metadata hiding inside, GPS coordinates, author names, camera details, timestamps, so you can decide what leaves your machine.
Supported formats
JPEG: full EXIF extraction including camera make/model, software, date/time, artist, copyright, and GPS coordinates. PNG: tEXt, iTXt, and zTXt chunk parsing. PDF: author, title, subject, keywords, creator, producer, creation and modification dates. WebP: EXIF and XMP presence detection. HEIC/HEIF: file type validation with EXIF presence check. TIFF: EXIF presence detection. GIF: embedded comment blocks.
How it works
BlurIt watches every file input on the page. The moment you select a file, it scans automatically and surfaces a clean popup with expandable cards for each file, showing exactly what metadata was found. A badge on the extension icon tells you at a glance how many files on the current page carried metadata. Scan history persists across sessions with a lifetime counter, and optional system notifications alert you the instant sensitive metadata is detected.
Privacy
Every byte is processed locally in your browser. No data leaves your machine. No network requests. No exceptions.
