Ctrl+number are reserved by Firefox to change tabs so it won't work for addons. Though it could be changed only in the addon code (it's hardcoded). Hi. In new browser versions 57+ there is a button by default which toggles the sidebars (bookmarks, history...) "Show sidebars". For older versions I have the Bookmarks Sidebar Button addon.
