It's a simple UI which is fine because it doesn't need to be complicated. It works well and is easy to understand. I think some of the criticisms in other reviews relate to an earlier version. I see no mention of "chunks" - the byte size is shown. In any case, saying it is made for "geeks" because it mentioned "chunks" is unfair. The whole purpose is to show that signatures match, which it does, and most users will not worry about things like "chunks" and "bytes".

Works, but slow. Usable for files <1GB

I despise developers who use non-standard, non-user friendly geek speak which is why I downgraded this app by 2 stars. What the bleep is a chunk? How many "chunks" are in a file so I can estimate how long checksum calculations are going to take? How does a chunk relate to bytes? Please pay attention to who your audience is, in this case it is the public and most are NOT computer scientists. As a long time software engineer/team lead myself I fired or got rid of programmers who did not write programs directed at their user base and used geek speak, error messages etc that their users would find incomprehensible.

Very helpful plugin. Please include SHA 512 as well, some downloads (e.g. FileZilla) only list SHA 512.

Easy to use and it works

Many websites provide hashes in all-caps but this addon only works with lower-case hashes. File hashes are not case-sensitive and this addon should reflect that.

Thanks for providing this a must have for anyone who downloads content. Is there anyway to incorporate this with downloads folder so it calculates hash at the end of a download for comparison. This would be quite useful and a whole lot less time consuming.

This software is easier, will do good job.
But the function [Compare results] can't compare a alphabets, small and capital letters.
