This extension is actually modified from Wappalyzer, and it's to provide developers and penetration testers the list of websites with enriched information. The information includes the technologies those sites are using and also the version numbers of them.

The reason why I publish this extension is to let users gain this kind of information for free, and everyone can just install this extension to contribute the information to the database.
