The level of ignorance to believe Wikipedia gets unfair amounts of money from DONATIONS is beyond comprehension. The fact that there needs to be an a browser extension because of a couple of grumpy employees who count money of people with a mission is funny to me:)

This addon removes the scammy, annoying and misleading Wikipedia donation ads.
Wikipedia only uses 1.7% of it's money for operating the website. The rest vanishes in corruption. It's a scam.
Thanks to this addon, we don't have to see the advertisement for that scam anymore.

What makes this extension particularly useful is that the Donate link is still there where it always is if you do want to donate.

This extension just makes this things more convenient if you're someone who is both aware that Wikipedia seeks donations and jknow them reminding you of this won't persuade you to do anything differently (be that meaning donating or not).

Please make something like this for the Internet Archive

They make over 10x the amount they need to keep the website running every year. They only spend 8% of their budget on strictly keeping the website running. Anyone who fell for their guilt tripping & sent them money should feel bad about themselves

Works great. The people posting 1 stars for this extension are just trolls who work for Wikipedia, mad that someone found a way to block their stupid donation begging banners. Ignore them and install this, works great. Took off a star because it still appears on wikipedia's homepage, but other than that works well.

Wikimedia has enough money to host their website for 40 years. They're scammers who use scare tactics to shake you down for money.

Thanks for this Add-on! Wikipedia does not need the funding and the notices are so annoying.
