Mozilla, from what I've seen, your company has been dedicated to providing your users privacy and great tools to combat tracking of all forms. This tool/add-on directly goes against those ideals and has started a rift between you and your customers/users, especially through your endorsement of this product. The product does not work on Amazon, as it promises, and it takes a lot more of my data than I am comfortable with.
I really don't want to leave this platform, but the more you sell out to shady companies, like this and Amazon, the less inclined I am to believe you are serious about internet safety and security. Please, get rid of this add-on, or fix it. Money is not everything. Once you give in to money as your primary reasoning behind these shady decisions, you will have failed the users completely.

    Fakespot was formerly one of the best Firefox add-ons. Since it is now GONE, Fakespot is useless. I need an alternative. Dear Fakespot - Firefox: WHY?????

    still works past the 1st somehow for me. rating 1 star bc i'm mad at mozilla for pulling a microsoft and shutting down something that a lot of people relied upon. especially without any given reason or any news from the original developers as to why. this was genuinely one of THE BEST extensions you couldve gotten for firefox, outside of privacybadger and ublock origin. why did you buy this if you're just going to shut it down 2 years later? what would be smarter is either keeping it up, letting the original devs have it back, make it open source, or implement the feature directly into the browser itself. extremely dumb decision.

    How disappointing to see it go. 😭 I'm working on a replacement add-on for myself and others, in case anyone wants to get notified when it's released. The site can be found at truestar.pro.

    This extension will be gone after July 1, 2025. I am really going to miss it. For the few months I used it I came to rely on it's ratings. I hope it returns.
