Can you make it so it appears like the old GOOGLE TOOLBAR search with a search bar you can type into that is always there. Having to click it to make the search bar appear is one wasted step.

Also any chance in adding the ability to force it to open in new tab?

A good start/proof of concept. Some comments: 1) Cursor should focus on the input textbox when you click the toolbar icon; currently you have to click in the textbox or tab twice to get there; 2) Search results should open in a new tab; 3) It would be nice to have the option of configuring it as a second always-present bar below the address bar, as the pre-v57 GoogleBar Lite did.

The ability to easily search a page and/or highlight terms (without having to retype my search term into a second location) was.for me, 90% of the usefulness of Google-bar Lite. The other 10% was in the quick redirection to other of Google's search pages. You will really will have a winner here if you can resurrect the fullness of the Google-bar Lite. Please don't stop here!

I'm not sure what the advantage of this addon is? It's well made so kudos to that. But I think I speak for all users when I say - "No highligher or wordfinder - no Googlebar lite!!!"

Firefox already has google search bar.

Please add the key components if you have the motivation (word finder/highlighter).... then it will be the best Add on available.

glad someone continues working on Googlebar lite , I trust that the highligter works again in a little while!!!
