Lucid is a privacy-first file viewer for structured text. When you navigate to or download a YAML or JSON file, Lucid intercepts it and renders it in a dedicated viewer with:
• Syntax-aware folding and indent guides
• Outline tree sidebar for fast navigation
• In-document search with match counts
• Raw / formatted toggle
• Status bar with parse stats and validation errors
• Plugin-style handler architecture — TOML, XML, CSV, INI, and .env are next
Permissions model
Lucid declares NO host permissions by default. The manifest only requests <all_urls> as an OPTIONAL permission. You grant access per site from the options page; each grant rebuilds the redirect rules so the extension only sees pages you've explicitly allowed. Revoking a site is a single click.
Privacy
Lucid runs entirely locally. It does not proxy, upload, log, or analyze your files. There are no remote servers, no analytics, and no telemetry. The full privacy policy is in the source archive (PRIVACY.md) and at
https://github.com/w0l1d/lucid-viewer/blob/main/PRIVACY.md
