A very minimal add-on that uses the browser's speechSynthesis API to transform text into speech. This plugin does not do this transformation itself, it simply passes the selected text to the browser API that does. Created this because all the other text-to-speech add-ons produced very robotic, unpleasant speech.
To use, select the text you want spoken, then right-click to bring up the context menu. Click the "Speak selected" option in the menu.
Note that it will use the language specified (or inferred) on the page itself according to the default API behavior. This plugin does not select the language.
