Osprey is a free, open-source browser security extension that protects you from phishing, malware, scams, and other malicious websites. As you browse, Osprey checks every site you visit against more than 20 threat-intelligence providers, then blocks or warns you the moment one of them flags a site as dangerous.
WHAT OSPREY BLOCKS
- Phishing and fake login pages that steal your credentials
- Malware and malicious websites
- Scams and online fraud
- Suspicious or untrustworthy sites
- Newly registered domains, which are frequently abused in attacks
PRIVATE BY DESIGN
Osprey is built so that protecting you never means watching you. URL checks are routed through a privacy-preserving proxy that hides your IP address from the providers performing the checks. Because that proxy is shared by thousands of users, no provider can connect a lookup back to you, and Osprey keeps no record of where you go.
OPEN-SOURCE AND FREE
Osprey is fully open-source under the GPLv3 license, so anyone can inspect exactly how it works and verify what it does with your data. It's a non-profit project rather than a commercial product. It's free to use, with no premium tier and no ads.
WORKS ON CHROME, EDGE, AND FIREFOX
Osprey runs on every major browser and stays out of your way. It's light enough that you won't notice it until it catches something.
Install Osprey for free, open-source safe browsing that protects you from phishing, malware, and the web's most common threats.
