Reverse Image Search Anywhere is built to be private by default. This explains exactly what the extension does and does not do with your data.

The short version

• Normal reverse searches work by opening a search engine with your image's URL. Those requests go straight from your browser to the engine — they never touch our servers.
• We do not track your browsing, build a profile, or sell any data.
• The only time an image reaches our servers is when you start a search that has no URL to hand to an engine: "All engines (upload — Instagram/Pinterest)" on a site that hides the image URL, a pasted image, a captured region, or a cropped face. Those uploads auto-delete within about an hour.
• No ads, no third-party trackers, and no analytics or telemetry ship in the extension.

What the extension accesses

To reverse-search an image we read the specific image you right-click, paste, or capture, and (for region capture) draw a selection box on the current page. We act only on the image you explicitly choose — never in the background, and never on pages you don't interact with.

This is what the "websiteContent" data collection permission in our manifest refers to: the image you select is page content, and for the upload path it leaves your browser.

Upload-search (opt-in, per image)

Some sites (for example Instagram or Pinterest) don't expose a usable image URL. If you choose to search such an image, the extension uploads that single image to our storage (Amazon S3) to create a temporary link that search engines can read. We store it only as long as needed to complete the search and delete it automatically within approximately one hour. We never use uploaded images to train models, and we never share or sell them.

Settings

Your engine preferences are stored in your browser's extension storage. They stay in your browser account; we don't receive them.

Third-party search engines

When you run a search, the destination engine (Google, Yandex, Microsoft Bing, or TinEye) receives the image or its URL and is governed by its own privacy policy.

Your rights & contact

Because uploaded images auto-expire within an hour and we hold no account data, there is normally nothing to request deletion of. For any privacy question, contact support@reverseimage.app.
