Pensieve: 100% Secret Notes can be accessed by clicking on the Sidebar icon which resembles a small flipbook with a red protective binding around its spine. After writing your secret notes, you must move out of the note writing area using your mouse, trackpad or keyboard in order to save the note. If you straightaway close the Secret Note sidebar or the main tab with the page, your Secret Note will not be saved.

This is the way adopted to prevent your browser from hanging or consuming excessive processor resources by making sync updates for each small change in your Secret Notes.
