Features
  • Quick Access: Open the search popup via the toolbar action button or the Alt+P keyboard shortcut.

  • Auto-fill Domain: The domain of the currently active page is automatically pre-filled.

    • Add, remove, and manage search engines on the options page.
    • Defaults include DuckDuckGo and Google.
  • Context Menu Integration:
    • Right-click on selected text to perform a site search directly.
    • This feature can be enabled or disabled in the extension's options.
  • Theme Support:
    • Choose between a light and dark theme for both the popup and options page.
    • Your theme preference is saved.
  • Options Page:
    • Accessible from the popup or Firefox's add-on manager.
    • Manage search engines.
    • Toggle context menu visibility.
    • Toggle theme.

Usage

Using the Popup
  1. Open Popup:
    • Click the Site Searcher icon in the Firefox toolbar.
    • Or, press Alt+P (or your configured shortcut).
  2. Search Engine: The last used search engine will be selected. You can change it using the dropdown.
  3. Domain: The current website's domain will be pre-filled. You can modify it if needed.
  4. Search Term:
    • If you had text selected on the page when opening the popup, it will be pre-filled.
    • Otherwise, type your desired search query.
  5. Click "Search" or press Enter in one of the input fields. A new tab will open with the search results from your chosen engine, scoped to the specified domain.

Using the Context Menu (if enabled)
  1. Select Text: Highlight the text you want to search for on any webpage.
  2. Right-click: Open the context menu.
  3. Click "Site Search for '[your selected text]'": A new tab will open with the search results.
