This extension does the following:

* Adds a toolbar button with a badge counting the number of open tabs (maxes out at 999 due to three character limit)

* Tooltip on the button shows tab count (#), tabs opened today (+), tabs closed today (-) and tab switches today (~)

No metadata about your tabs is saved, only the aggregate counts per day.
