Nice try but it doesn't work for me. I want to rename tabs based on the complete URL when working in a backend website.

When using the "Only exact match" option with a tab like this:

https://website.com/application#View:PAGE1

I can rename the tab "Page 1" based on that URL - that works. But when I navigate from that tab to another page in the backend (ex. : https://website.com/application#View:PAGE2) the tab's name remains "Page 1" instead of changing its name to the new page's normal (not customized) title.

I would like the full URL to be taken into account so that the name of the tab dynamically changes as soon as the URL changes.

    I only use the feature to temporarily rename a tab, but that works flawlessly. It'd be nice to have a "Rename tab" option in the context menu for a tab. If that's available, I couldn't find it in the options.

    It does what it says for the most part, but for me the new tab title doesn't persist between sessions like it says. When I rename a tab and chose the "Set for this tab" option, and then close and reopen firefox, the tab title has reverted back to it's original value. If the renamed tab title would actually persist between Firefox sessions this add-on would be very useful for me. I'm gonna try some tab stickies add-ons instead for now.

    It would be awesome to allow to set title by just double clicking on the tab name, or within the tab context menu.

    Did it with "This time only" but this Add-on is not able to that for a specific url!! It just renames other tabs as well and then having several Tabs with the same name!

    update: 20/09/2024. IT DOES NOT WORK AT ALL!!! WHY? BECAUSE THE CHANGE OF TITLES I MADE ONLY FOR A FEW PINNED TABS DOES NOT STAY FROM ONE SESSION TO THE NEXT!!!
    I HAD SELECTED SET FOR THIS TAB!!!
    THEREFORE, THIS ADDON IS COMPLETELY USELESS!!!

    It works except for the New Tab when I want to rename this New Tab. Even when I select "Set for this tab", it is impossible to rename a particular New Tab with a different title!

    頻繁に正規表現置換機能が止まってしまう不具合があるものの、これはとても便利。
    　長ったらしいヤフオクのタイトルを、邪魔な部分だけ正規表現で取り除く事ができた。ドメイン単位での自動置換だけでなく、そのタブだけ名前を変える事ができるのもありがたい。
    　正規表現はスペースを入れるとダメみたい。「\s」でも上手く行かず。`.`で代用した。

    動作が途中で止まった場合はアドオンを一旦無効化し再起動する必要がある。ブラウザ再起動後、以前のプロファイルを読み込んだ場合には、ほぼ必ず機能停止している。

    - Does exactly what you'd expect it to
    - Doesn't randomly break
    - You can rename a tab for a single browsing session or permanently for a given URL

    Works well, and I like the option to pin the tab as a little globe icon.

    However, if you accidentally refresh the ReTitle tab it reverts back to a full tab (taking up additional space on your toolbar) with no option to fix this except to close it and restart the extension.

    A minor inconvenience that isn't worth a star off a free product, but is still worth mentioning.

    Makes it way easier to see what I have open in BitBucket at a glance.

    I absolutely love how tidy it lets me organize my tabs, although I couldn't get it to rename my open PDFs. I would love to see that implemented if possible (I realize I can rename the PDF, but I don't want to do that)
