Limitations

• Does not work on browser-internal pages like about:addons or about:debugging.
• Requires host permissions for certain pages like reader view, view-source, and PDF viewer.
• Cannot update titles for discarded tabs until they are loaded.
• Redirecting sites (e.g., login pages) may cause rules to apply inconsistently.

Debugging and Testing

To test your patterns:

1. Visit https://regex101.com/.
2. Select "ECMAScript (JavaScript)" under the "FLAVOR" section.
3. Enter your pattern in the "REGULAR EXPRESSION" box.
4. Enter a test URL in the "TEST STRING" box.
5. Verify that your pattern matches the URL as expected.
