1. Overview
   This Privacy Policy applies exclusively to the UAIE™ — Universal Adaptive Interface Engine browser extension (the “Extension”), available on the Microsoft Edge Add-ons Store and the Chrome Web Store. It does not apply to the website fizapathansteachingportfolioforpgcite.com, which is governed by its own separate privacy policies.
2. No Data Collection
   The UAIE Extension does not collect, transmit, store, or share any personal data of any kind.

Specifically:

The Extension does not collect your name, email address, or any identifying information.
The Extension does not track your browsing activity or the websites you visit.
The Extension does not send any data to external servers.
The Extension does not use analytics, advertising trackers, or telemetry of any kind.
The Extension does not require you to create an account.
The Extension does not require an API key for its core features (Text-to-Speech, Braille Download, Plain Language L1–L2, Reading Companion, Cognitive Load Indicator, Sign Language Lookup, Visual Adjustments).
3. Local Storage Only
The Extension uses your browser’s local storage (chrome.storage.local) solely to save your personal settings — such as your preferred interface language, TTS accent, and toggle preferences. This data is stored entirely on your own device and is never transmitted anywhere.

1. Optional API Key
   If you choose to use the advanced Plain Language features (Levels L3–L6) or the Multiple Intelligences module, you may optionally enter an Anthropic API key in the Extension settings. This key is:

Stored only on your own device via chrome.storage.local.
Used solely to make requests directly from your browser to the Anthropic API.
Never transmitted to, or stored by, Fiza Pathan or any third party associated with the UAIE Extension.
The use of the Anthropic API is governed by Anthropic’s own Privacy Policy (https://www.anthropic.com/privacy). The UAIE Extension takes no responsibility for data processed by Anthropic once you initiate an API call using your own key.

1. Permissions Explained
   The Extension requests the following browser permissions:

storage — To save your settings locally on your device.
activeTab — To read and process the content of the currently active tab when you activate the Extension.
scripting — To inject the UAIE accessibility interface into the current webpage.
<all_urls> — To allow the Extension to function on any website you choose to use it on.
None of these permissions is used to collect, transmit, or store any personal data.

1. Children’s Privacy
   The UAIE Extension is designed in part to support students and learners of all ages, including children. Because the Extension collects no personal data whatsoever, it is safe for children to use. No data subject to the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) or equivalent legislation is collected.
2. Third-Party Services
   The Extension uses the following third-party service solely at the user’s explicit request:

Anthropic API — Optional, for advanced Plain Language and Multiple Intelligences features. Activated only when the user enters their own API key and initiates a request.
The Extension does not integrate with any advertising network, analytics platform, or social media service.

1. Changes to This Policy
   Any future updates to this Privacy Policy will be published at the same URL and reflected in an updated Effective Date. Continued use of the Extension after any such update constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
