Video Tuner Pro does not collect, sell, or send personal data to the developer. The extension has no developer-operated servers, analytics, advertising, or third-party tracking.
The optional SponsorBlock marker feature makes the limited third-party request described below.
The extension saves playback, Live-sync, audio, Viewer, appearance, and keyboard settings using the browser's storage.local and storage.sync APIs.
Synced settings are handled by the browser vendor through the user's browser profile. The developer does not receive this data. Users can disable synchronization, clear stored settings, or uninstall the extension at any time.
SponsorBlock markers are disabled by default.
When the user explicitly enables this feature on YouTube, the extension sends the following information to the public SponsorBlock API at https://sponsor.ajay.app:
- The current YouTube video ID.
- A fixed list of requested segment categories.
This request is used only to retrieve public sponsor-segment timestamps for display on the Viewer's seek bar.
Requests are sent over HTTPS with credentials omitted and without referrer information. The extension does not send cookies, account credentials, saved settings, audio, video content, or analytics identifiers. As with any network request, the SponsorBlock service receives standard connection information such as the user's IP address.
SponsorBlock responses are cached only in memory and are not stored permanently. Disabling SponsorBlock markers stops these requests.
On Firefox, the extension requests the optional browsing activity permission before enabling this feature. If permission is declined, SponsorBlock requests are not made.
- storage — saves extension settings.
- activeTab — applies controls to the video in the active tab.
- scripting — restores the bundled content script in already-open tabs after an extension update.
- alarms — performs periodic extension update checks.
- Host access — detects and controls HTML5 video on websites. Page and video data are otherwise processed locally.
The developer does not sell or transfer user data. The only optional third-party transmission is the SponsorBlock request described above. Browser settings synchronization is provided by the browser vendor under the user's browser account.
