The vIFF system integrates CTOT (Calculated Take-Off Time) and other relevant flight information directly with SimBrief flight planning data, ensuring accurate synchronization between operational flight plans and the Integrated & Flow Management System.
By utilizing SimBrief-generated flight plan information, vIFF receives essential operational parameters such as aircraft details, route information, performance data, estimated timings, and flight plan constraints. This enables improved CTOT calculation, validation, and coordination by providing a more complete operational picture of each flight.
In addition to standard flight plan information, vIFF provides an optimized predicted trajectory to the vIFF processing engine. The trajectory is generated based on the aircraft performance, planned route, speed profiles, altitude constraints, and estimated flight progression. This enhanced trajectory data allows vIFF to perform more accurate traffic analysis, demand prediction, sector load evaluation, and time-based calculations.
The integration improves overall flight predictability by allowing vIFF to anticipate aircraft movement throughout the entire flight profile, not only at departure but also during en-route and arrival phases. This supports more efficient airspace management, improved CTOT accuracy, and better coordination between flight operators, flow management systems, and air traffic control stakeholders in the VATSIM network
